Charity & Community

At the Round Table we have a lot of fun, however there is a serious side for which we all share a passion. Ultimately, our goal is to raise funds for worthy causes. Our focus is on local charities and people or groups in need of a little help. We organise a number of fundraising events in the local area and raise thousands of pounds every year.

Below are a few examples of those we have helped.

Recent support to RH1 and RH2

Across 2024 and 2025 we have helped by funding:
  1. Include Choir so that their members can all have Include Choir tops when performing at their brilliant performances.
  2. Competition fees for Merstham Bees SEND football team so that they are able to continue to play, and give children and young people opportunities to join in with football when they might not otherwise be able to.
  3. Loveworks so that they can continue to provide emergency food parcels to those in extremely difficult situations for the next year.
  4. To support from Dame Vera Lynn Children's Charity for a child in the RH1 and RH2 postcode so that this child could access the charity’s fantastic Learn Together project. The Dame Vera Lynne Children’s Charity supports local children under 5 with cerebral palsy, chromosome abnormalities and rare genetic disorders that cause physical impairments.
  5. Sessions for Cafe Milk CIO, who are a charity that support infant feeding in the East Surrey area. They run free, café-style support drop-ins facilitated by qualified breastfeeding counsellors, healthcare professionals and peer supporters.
  6. Equipment for a young carers club at St John’s Primary School.
  7. Renewed Hope’s Drop in shelter. In their Drop-In centre, they provide hot meals, a shower, clothing and endless cups of tea. Their support worker focuses on each individual's needs and connects them with relevant services, such as homelessness officers, outreach teams, domestic violence workers, substance abuse teams and employment and training services
  8. Kids Cancer Charity to enable two families from the RH1 postcode to get a holiday and some respite during extremely difficult times.
Despite Omnicron in 2021 the charity raised a record amount for local good causes thanks to the kind donations of people on the routes, cashless donations via phones, online at a JustGiving page and donations from local businesses.
  • In December 2021 we donated 11 Sainsbury's voucher cards to families at East Surrey's  women's refuge for their Christmas day food shop.
  • In 2022, we supported ‘The Include Project’, a Redhill-based charity with £1500 to fund choir sessions for people with communication and learning difficulties as well as Makaton sign training for 6 volunteers.
  • We gave a larger donation in 2022 to 11 local residential services of Active Prospects, a charity that enables people with learning disabilities, physical and mental health needs to live full and aspiring lives, to install Assistive Switches, Sensory Equipment and outdoor musical equipment that could be used by their 45 residents.

Our support in 2018

We dedicate all our support to local causes in RH1 and RH2. Many of which struggle to find charitable donations from other places.

We are always looking for causes to support so please use the form at the bottom of this page to make us aware of anyone we should be speaking to.
